Vicar's Message...

Rev Fr. Biju

Dear Beloved in Christ,

The Word of God brings us a promise - "Looking at his disciples, he said: Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God." (St.Luke 6:20). This is one of the beautiful promises from the Sermon on the Mount by Jesus Christ.

God has a dream that man and woman - God's Creation - should not suffer and shall live in peace with justice and by sharing the Bread of life in harmony. But if we look at the world today, we see no sign of it's fulfillment. For the fulfillment of the Word of God we need to look at life with the eye of faith and with a real vision about the Kingdom of God.

The Kingdom of God is the reign of the Sovereign God over all the creation - "The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all." (Psalms 103:19). "And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever." (Revelations 11:15)

The Kingdom of God is a condition in which perfect justice is maintained. God is ready to act with justice for those who suffer poverty, injustice and discrimination. "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness,
and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost." (Romans 14:17)

This vision of the Kingdom of God challenges all perspectives and unjust streams of the present day society. We Christians have the vision of the Kingdom of God to weed out the evils of the present day life by proclaiming equality and sharing of the bread with others. St. Paul says (in Colossians 1:13-14) "Who hath delivered us
from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:"

So our participation in sharing the Holy Communion challenges us to build up a life with God's Kingdom. It ensures the theme of equality and a new hope for our life.

May God Bless you all.
Vicar
